under the California data protection laws

If you are a California resident, the information below also applies to you. Certain terms used in this section have the meanings given to them in the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). If not otherwise indicated, terms are defined as set forth in our Privacy Policy. As required by the CCPA, our Privacy Policy describes the categories of personal data collected, processed, and disclosed by SocialPiper, the categories of sources for that data, and the business or commercial purposes for which that data is collected, processed and disclosed.

Categories of Personal Information SocialPiper will have collected from or about you in the preceding 12 months

  • Identifiers (e.g. name, mailing address, email address, phone number, credit/debit card number);
  • Characteristics of protected classifications (e.g. gender, age);
  • Commercial information (e.g. products or services purchased, purchase history);
  • Internet or other electronic network activity (e.g. browse or search history);
  • Geolocation data (e.g. latitude or longitude);
  • Inferences drawn from any of the above (e.g. preferences or characteristics).

Categories of Sources from which SocialPiper will have collected Personal Information about you (for more information, see the “Information CollectedandChoices about How We Use and Disclose Your Information” sections of our Privacy Policy)

  • Consumer Directly (e.g. SocialPiper.com, Mobile, Client Relations);
  • Advertising Networks (e.g. Google);
  • Data analytics providers (e.g. data brokers);
  • Government Entities (e.g. IRS);
  • Social networks (e.g. Twitter, Facebook).

Business or Commercial purposes for which SocialPiper  will have collected or sold Personal Information about you in the preceding 12 months (for more information, see our Privacy Policy including the sections called “Information Collected,” andChoices about How We Use and Disclose Your Information”)

  • Performing services, including maintaining or servicing client accounts, providing customer service, processing or fulfilling orders and transactions, verifying client information, processing payments, providing advertising or marketing services, providing analytics services, or providing similar services;
  • Detecting security incidents, protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and prosecuting those responsible for that activity;
  • Debugging to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.

  • Internet or other electronic network activity (e.g. browse or search history).

You Have the Following rights under the CCPA:

  • Right to request that SocialPiper disclose Personal Information, or Categories of Personal Information, it collects, uses, discloses, and sells;
  • Right to request that SocialPiper delete Personal Information we have collected from you;
  • Right to request that SocialPiper opt you out of the sale of your Personal Information.

Our Process Used to Verify Your Access and/or Deletion Request

If you are a user of our Sites, you will be required to submit 4 pieces of information including your name, address, email, and phone number. SocialPiper will use this information to search our systems and determine if we have information about you. If we are able to locate information about you, we will fulfill your Access and/or your Deletion request. If we are not able to match all of the pieces of information you submit, we may provide you with a report that includes the categories of personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell.

You will receive two emails when your Access report is ready. These emails will be sent to the email address you provided SocialPiper at the time you submitted your request. One email will contain a link to your report and a second email will contain a password needed to access the report.

If you are an authorized agent for your company, you will be required to submit your name, address, email, and phone number as well as the name, address, email and phone number of the user you are making a request on behalf of. SocialPiper will use the user’s information to search our systems and determine if we have information about such user. If we are able to locate information about the user we will fulfill the Access and/or Deletion request. As an authorized agent for your company you will receive an email confirming that we have received the request along with a second email asking you to fill out a certification form confirming your information and certifying you have the right to make this request on behalf of the user. Once the report is ready, it will be sent to the email or physical address you have given us, depending on the delivery method you choose.

Non-Discrimination

SocialPiper will not discriminate against you because you exercise your rights. For example, SocialPiper will not deny you Services or charge you a different rate for Services if you make an access, deletion, or do not sell request.

Under California law, you may have the right (up to two times in any 12-month period) to request more information about SocialPiper’s collection, use, disclosure, and sale of personal data about you including:

  • The categories of personal data about you that we have collected in the preceding 12 months and the categories of sources of that information,
  • The categories of sources from which we have collected that information in the preceding 12 months,
  • The commercial or business reason(s) we have collected, used, disclosed, or sold that information, and
  • The categories of third parties to whom we have disclosed or sold that information in the preceding 12 months.

In addition, upon receipt of a verifiable request from you establishing your identity, you may have the right to know about the specific pieces of personal data that we have collected about you and/or shared with third parties in the preceding 12 months.  You may also have the right to request deletion of personal data about you that we have collected or maintain, which we will honor subject to certain limitations set forth in California law.

California Shine the Light

If you are a California resident and have an established business relationship with us, you can request a notice disclosing the categories of personal information we have shared with third parties, for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes, during the preceding calendar year. To request a notice, please submit your request to SocialPiper, Attn: California Shine the Light Inquiry, 228 Hamilton Avenue, 3rd Floor, Palo Alto, CA 94301. Please allow 30 days for a response.
